1995 - 2002; Chief Instructor, Urban Firearms Institute @ Caswell Shooting Range, Mesa, Az. DUTIES: I was responsible for the majority of the instructor training and continuing education for Urban Firearms Institute staff. As Chief Instructor I was the primary instructor for over 90% of the advanced courses and several hundred Concealed Carry classes.

I integrated the techniques and curriculum into a comprehensive system, using universal non-diagnostic techniques, designed to avoid or minimize the level of force needed. Combining de-escalation skills, movement tactics, combatives, and survivable firearm skills, I designed the comprehensive training program for firearms and self-defense instruction to minimize decision making under stress and smoothly transition through various levels of force depending on the circumstance. Use of force-on-force simulations, FIST suit applications, and judgmental shooting simulators (FATS III, and Range 2000), was incorporated extensively throughout the curriculum.

I developed the instructor outlines, and handouts for all advanced courses and CCW classes including; Tactical Pistol I (AZ POST approved), Tac II, Tac III, Tactical Shotgun, Defensive knife, ASP Certification, all hand to hand Combatives courses, Judicious Use-Of-Force, Physiological / Psychological aspects of self-defense, Mindset lectures, catalogs and promotional materials, and numerous student handouts.
During this time, instructor staff increased from 3 to 8 and revenue increased from $5000 to +$17000 per month. The curriculum developed the reputation as state off the art in both the civilian and law enforcement communities of the Southwest. During part of this time I was also director of all training and in charge of class scheduling, staffing, and development.
Additionally in 1997 and 1998 I presented seminars at the National Tactical Invitational.

1988 - 1992; Central Unit Maximum Security Prison Correctional Service Officer, , Arizona Department of Corrections, Florence, Az.
DUTIES: Supervision of large groups of inmates primarily as a yard officer escorting groups of inmates during movement outside their cells. From 1989 to 1992, 60% of the work involved the overall co-ordination of all inmate movement, and yard officer distribution within the Unit. This position also involved the immediate response to problem situations, emergencies, and the high-risk transportation of inmates.
