TSC Holsters

Warranty Policy;

As a matter of policy (belief that the more good guys who carry the safer society is in general, and you're more likely to carry if you have my holster in particular) I will warranty/ fix breakages as much as I humanly can. The 2 places Kydex holsters break are 1) the belt clips and 2) the inside panel on the body of the holster. Most commonly the belt clip gives out due to repeated over flexing or getting snagged on something. The clips are also suseptable to cold weather so please don't leave the holster in your cold car and then try to put it on once you're inside the car.

1) If your holster's belt clip breaks just send $10 for shipping and handling and the holster and it will be repaired as soon as possible. All repairs go to the front of the line to be worked on and you can get your holster back and working quickly. The repair is to modify the holster for replaceable bolt on clips. Easily done if your have the right tools and pre molded replacement clips on hand. With your retrofitted holster I will also enclose a spare clip (the one that broke) for the next time ti might happen. Since the same people who break clips often do it again, all it takes in the future is to call and get pre-molded, cut, drilled, and polished replacement clips for your holster that you can put on.

If you don't want to ship your holster to me for replaceable belt clips, you can do the repair yourself - Just contact me and the pre-drilled, cut, and polished clips and bolts will be shipped to you. Again there will be a $10 shipping and handling charge.

To do it yourself, you would just use a set of straight cut tin snips to cut off the cracked clip. Then use the dremel to round off the sharp edges on the holster body (I use a belt sander but a sanding drum on your dremel will work fine). Then use a felt polishing wheel and the dremel to smooth out / polish the edges of the holster. This will make sure the holster is still comfortable and feels the same.

At this point use some vice grips to clamp the replaceable clip in place so both screws will be attached to the holster body when assembled, and the top of the clip loop is flush to 1/4" above the top edge of the holster body. You can actually slightly tweak the holster's cant here if the gun angle is a little off for your tastes, but be sure, because it's a permanent modification. Then just drill (7/32" drill bit) through the holster's body where the pre-drilled holes are in the replacement clip. Be sure the clip is clamped tight because things can torque when the drill bit bites in (I use 2 vice grips to be sure). Once that's all done use the screws I'll send to attach the clip to the holster body . Make sure you also use loctite on the screw when assembling.

Clear as mud?? Actually it's harder to write out than it is to do if you have the tools ready. However, if you botch it, I may not be able to fix the damage. Please don't blame me.

2) If your holster has cracked on the body it cannot be repaired with certainty. Often, though, the crack only goes to a certain point and stops. A small hole drilled at the end of the crack will often stop any spreading of the cracking damage. However, if it doesn't stop, the holster will have to be replaced, or 'repaired', before it fails and becomes dangerous. Cracks can easily weaken the holster to the point it becomes unsafe - PLEASE do not use a seriously cracked holster to bet your life on. Be responsable for your gear;

I have used 'Shoe Goo' to reattach a completely broken (into two seperate pieces) holster that I am currently wearing as a test model. I carefully inspect this holster daily for signs of failure. Very few adhesives bond with Kydex at all, but ShoeGoo is a flexable adhesive and if several holes are drilled completely through the holster, the adhesive bonds to itself and seems to be durable so far (+4 months and counting as of April 2010). Again, I carefully inspect this holster daily for signs of failure. I've tried several other adhesives without success but ShoeGoo seems to be working well at this time. Contact me if you have questions about self application. Be warned this modification may look like hell if you're sloppy with the glue (I was) but it goes inside your pants anyway.

No question is a dumb one so if any of this isn't clear just contact me

and I'll try to fill in the details, or answer any questions.
